1. 1警示的、勸誡的(cautionary tale 常說「警世故事」)

    Cautionary means “meant as a warning about what not to do.” A cautionary tale is a story that says: look what happened — do not copy this. Teachers, parents, and news writers love that pairing. The word is a little formal; in everyday talk people often just say a warning, or “this is to warn you.” Though actually, a cautionary story is not always fair in every detail. It is often shaped to scare you a little, so you remember.
