A canoe is a small, narrow boat that is pointed at both ends. One or more people sit or inside it and move it by with a they hold in their hands (the is not attached to the boat). Canoes are used on rivers, lakes, and calm water for transport, sport, or fun, like a camping trip where people canoe down a river.
