Something blemished has been spoiled, so it is no longer beautiful or perfect. Fruit is blemished when the skin has marks. A face is blemished when there are spots. A name or a record can be blemished too — though actually, that is a stretch from skin and surfaces onto a person's standing: a blemished reputation has a stain on it. The word is the -ed form of the verb blemish, “to spoil.” It often feels a little careful or shop-like (blemished apples, sold cheaper) rather than like playground talk. The opposite, unblemished, is the common way to say “not spoiled at all.”
