An outdoor game played by two teams of nine players, where you hit a ball with a bat and run around four bases to score points.

You can picture a diamond with four bases on the ground: one player throws, one swings a bat, and if the ball gets away the batter runs from base to base until he gets home. The name says the two things that matter — the bases and the ball.
可以想成地上一個菱形，四個角各放一個壘包：一個人投球，一個人揮棒，球一飛出去，打者就沿著壘包一個一個跑，跑回本壘就得分。這個字的組成剛好點出比賽的兩個關鍵——base（壘）和 ball（球）。

A sport common in North America, the Caribbean, and East Asia, in which the objective is to strike a ball so that one of a nine-person team can run counter-clockwise among four bases, resulting in the scoring of a run. The team with the most runs after termination of play, usually nine innings, wins.
