Something you have reached or achieved, usually through effort - your level of skill, knowledge, or success at a point in time. It is a fairly formal word, often used to talk about education or goals - 'educational attainment' means how far someone has gone in school or how much they've learned, and 'the attainment of a goal' means successfully reaching it.
