Apiece means “for each one” or “each.” It sits after an amount, most often a price: if the tickets are twenty dollars apiece, every ticket costs twenty dollars. You can also use it for how many things each person gets, or for a score: the children got a bun apiece; the two teams scored a goal apiece. It is ordinary English, a little quieter and older-sounding than plain “each,” but people still say it in shops, kitchens, and sports talk. You never put it in front of a noun — not “an apiece ticket.” The amount comes first, then apiece.
