Amiability is the quality of being friendly and easy to like — warmth you can live with, not a single nice act. If someone has amiability, they are pleasant, kind in manner, and not hard to get on with. It is a rather formal, noun. In everyday talk people are more likely to say “she’s so friendly” or “he’s easy to like” than “her amiability.” You will meet it in novels, school essays, and character sketches. It names the trait. It does not mean the person is your close friend, and it is not the same as being merely polite.
