    「advert」就是 advertisement（廣告）的短說法，英國人最常用這個字。它可以是報紙上的一小塊字、牆上的一張圖，也可以是電視上那段短片；重點都是「告訴大家有這個東西，希望你來買或來參加」。可以想成 advertisement 把長長的尾巴剪掉就成了 advert，再剪短一點就是 ad——ad 在美國比較常聽到，advert 在英國比較常聽到。advert 可數，所以說 an advert、two adverts。
