When a movement is acrobatic, someone is using their body in a very way: jumping, twisting, turning in the air, or balancing as if they might fall but do not. Circus performers, gymnasts, and dancers get this word a lot, and sports writers stretch it to anyone who moves with that kind of surprise skill — a footballer who twists to kick, a cat that lands on its feet. It is an adjective, so it describes the move or the person doing it, not the show itself (that noun is acrobatics). Ordinary in sports and performance talk; not a stiff classroom word.
